Renfrewshire Council’s Tackling Poverty team commissioned a new website on behalf of a partnership of advice providers. As a key part of the programme to address poverty in Renfrewshire, the website was to contain information about advice providers in the area, guiding citizens to local organisations who can support them or signpost them.
With clear directions already in place about the look and feel, the functionality and the content of Advice Renfrewshire’s new website, based on previous consultation with users, we got the website online as soon as possible. Then the testing began.
We designed and ran a series of user testing sessions with key user groups in Paisley, on different devices, making improvements to the site in response to feedback. Further user testing and improvements validated or highlighted further issues which we could then address. This user-led approach to creating the website ensured that it’s as user friendly and accessible as possible for the wide range of people in Renfrewshire who will use it.
