Exiled For Existing

“‘Exiled for Existing’ is a Scottish documentary short produced by over 40 LGBT Refugees to the UK. This is the first film to tell the stories of those at the intersection of Queer identity and Asylum-Seeking.

It features participants recounting their experiences in their home countries, of finding community in Glasgow, and the difficulties they still face in the UK’s asylum system. The vulnerability of co-producers on camera is a testament to the importance of sharing their stories.

This is a community film project produced by the Glasgow workers co-operative, media co-op, in partnership with LGBT Unity Glasgow and the National Library of Scotland.
