Digital-internship-web

Media co-op has a 6 week paid internship for a UX / Participatory Designer

media co-op are a multi award winning digital agency established in 2004. We work with charities and the third sector* to produce films, animations, websites and digital media that strive to make a positive difference.

We believe that digital has huge potential to do good in the world and we want to make it easier and more affordable for the third sector* and charities to use digital in their work … and we need someone to help us do that better.

Thing is … for many of the people and organisations we work with are busy delivering vital services and digital is an unfamiliar world for them. So we need a fun and participatory process for making designing websites and software. We need someone to help us design a production process that fits us and the organisations we work with.

Interested? … you’ll understand the digital production processes, you can communicate, and you’ll have a genuine interest in the third sector*. Familiarity with Agile and UX processes would be beneficial. Even better if you also have some coding knowledge (but okay if you don’t).

You will be researching production processes (including our own) and discovering people’s digital dislikes. You’ll be finding tools and methods that make projects accessible to people who find digital difficult. We want to make this internship a great opportunity for someone who wants to take on a interesting and exciting project which will benefit all of us including the people we work with.

To be eligible to apply you need to be Unemployed, between 18 – 30 years old and hold a relevant qualification (HND or above). You need to apply for this post via your Jobcentre Plus Advisor. The internship is organised through SCVO’s Digital Internships programme. The reference number is: BDG/5142. Closing date for applications: 9 March 2015.
