Cat has a background in events and logistics management working for ten years in the charity sector running outdoor events for young folk across Scotland. She then worked in film festival organisation for four years and was involved with Take One Action Film Festivals, Document International Human Rights Film Festival and Glasgow Film Festival among others. A move into the film and TV industry saw Cat working freelance for several Scotland-based production companies, including media co-op. In 2018 Cat was accepted onto the Screen Skills Trainee Finder programme and worked in production roles on independent Scottish feature film Run (2019) and Dutch/Scottish co-production Repression (2020) – she also joined the crew of the long-running TV drama Shetland (ITV) for its fifth series. After graduating from the programme Cat continued to work freelance within the Production and Assistant Directors departments on several productions including the Bafta-winning BBC productions Guilt and Elizabeth is Missing.
Cat has been at media co-op full time since September 2019.
