Opportunity at media co-op, Glasgow A good starter role for someone with a flair for creative editing, an aptitude for technical stuff, who can work well in a team and wants to learn. Glasgow.

 

Experience

Some experience of film editing using one of the main editing packages (Avid, FCP, Premier)

Some experience of other post-production software (AfterEffects, Motion)

Some familiarity with film production kit (cameras, sound, lights, etc)

Methodical and logical approach to work

Motivated and keen to learn

Well-organised including self-organisation

Aptitude for technical things and research

Calm problem-solver

 

Desirable

Interest in factual programmes and documentaries

Passion for doing good – experience with volunteering or campaigning would be an advantage

 

The Job

Tasks include:

 

Ingesting and logging rushes

Regular project backups

Archive management

Assemble sequences

Subtitling

Creating simple graphics for screen and print

Research creative editing techniques

File compression and delivery

Assisting with maintenance of edit suite

Research into software, hardware and templates

 

You will also be required to:

Check kit in and out of shoots

Prepare and set up kit for filming

Assist with kit maintenance, report damamges and replacement needs

Attend pre-production and production meetings

Be a runner on shoots

Assisting production team when needed
