CHANGE needed an animation that explored the challenges of finding adequate childcare in Glasgow’s East End. We worked with them to identify the core findings that emerged out of their many years of research and involvement in the community. We then developed a script that communicated all of this in an accessible, human way that could reach both service providers and the parents and carers themselves.

CHANGE were keen to explicitly locate the animation in the East End and give locals a sense of ownership of the film and the issues it raises. To that end, we got local people to record their own voiceovers, at home, under lockdown conditions. The film also takes in a number of local features and landmarks.

The film was also supported by a number of infographics which CHANGE commissioned for use in local schools and healthcare offices, and also for sharing widely on social media.
