Simon Yuill is an artist, writer and programmer.
As an Associate Advisor to Media Co-op Simon provides advice on digital projects, platforms and content that are tailored to the needs of our clients. Simon works with Media Co-op as an external consultant on a freelance basis.
Simon has many years experience of producing bespoke software systems for a range of contexts from interactive installations, mobile devices, online research tools and web development. He has worked with various arts, educational and third sector projects, has provided consultation and training to organisations such as the International Transport Workers Federation.
He was awarded a PhD in Electronic Imaging from the University of Dundee. His academic work includes the use of interview and research processes, film, publishing, and custom software systems. He was the inaugural winner of the Vilém Flusser Theory Award (Berlin, 2008), has been a Research Resident at the Piet Zwart Institute (Rotterdam, 2005), an Honorary Visiting Research Fellow with the Institute for Advanced Studies at the University of Warwick (2013), and Honorary Visiting Research Fellow with the Centre for Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths College (London) where he also works with the Departments of Sociology and Computing.back
