BRIEF
STOP is Scottish Women’s Aid campaign aimed at preventing domestic abuse by changing public attitudes and encouraging by-standers to take a stand. Women’s Aid commissioned a series of one-minute films as part of their viral social media campaigning.

WHAT WE DID
One-minute films work well on social media, but it’s a challenge to pack in the message in such a short running time. We started in a participatory way with a workshop for staff from Women’s Aid and Shakti to share true stories of how bystanders had taken action to help women escape from abusive relationships. Then we worked with a TV scriptwriter (Martin McCardie, who has written for Shameless and River City) to create fictionalised, anonymous and compressed scripts based on real events.
